The Italian Grand Prix is one of the classic races of the world championship of the Formula one. It plays the second Sunday of September on the Monza motor racing .
THE HISTORY The first Italian Grand Prix was played on 4th September 1921 at Montichiari in province of Brescia, on a circuit made from road open to traffic. The following year was built the National motor racing of Monza and from then it’s always run on the Monza racing circuit, except for four editions (1937, 1947, 1948 and 1980). In the 1928 a serious accident happened during the race: the driver Emilio Materassi lost the control of the car and killed many people. Following this tragic event in the next two years the Grand Prix wasn’t held, returning only in 1931. In the 1937 was ran on the Montenero racing circuit in Livorno, to return the following year in Monza for the last edition before the Second World War . After the war the Grand Prix it resumed in the 1947: the Monza racing circuit but was still unusable because of the serious damage caused by war events. It therefore ran that year in Milano and in the 1948 in Torino. From 1949 it returned to the Monza track. In the 1950 was established the Formula 1 World Championship and since then the Italian Grand Prix has always been part: even in the first years was the final race, after other races were included at a later date. In the 1980 the Italian Grand Prix was played on the Imola motor racing. From the following year the Italian Grand Prix returned to Monza, as at Imola was awarded the San Marino Grand Prix. Since then until 2006 they were always played two Grad Praxes on the Italian territory. The 2006 edition was won by Michael Schumacher, on Ferrari, in a race that will go down in history for the press conference, in which the German announces the retirement and crowns his successor Kimi Raikkonen
